Tried and True!! From my sister-in-law, Tracy.
I can’t say enough good things about this recipe. It is easily doubled or tripled, and is always a terrific hit. I bring it to work parties but triple the recipe because it goes so quickly! For family get-togethers, my brother is REQUIRED to bring this dish! lol
PERSONAL NOTES: I never use the sour cream, and I usually don’t use the oven, just the microwave.
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
1 can (10-11oz.)cream of mushroom soup
1 8oz. package cream cheese
1 6-8oz. package sliced pepperoni
5 or 6 bagels
Preheat oven to 350°F. Soften cream cheese. Finely chop pepperoni in blender or food processor. Mix finely chopped pepperoni, cream of mushroom soup, and cream cheese in casserole dish. Add sour cream to thin. Cover and bake in oven at 350°F for 20 minutes. Stir every 5 minutes. (Be careful not to add too much sour cream because while it bakes, the oils from the pepperoni will start to rise, and that also helps thin it out.)
Cut bagels into bite size pieces, then dip away! (Serve very warm)
Instead of using the oven, you can microwave for 2 minutes, stir, put back in the microwave for 2 minutes, stir, etc. until heated through completely. Takes about 8 – 10 minutes total in the microwave.
P.S. This makes a perfect dip for Sunday football or for any occasion. The best part is that if there is any left over, it can be refrigerated then reheated in microwave!
